Example audit report about F&B price discrepancy between the guest check and menu

This is the example about the Food and Beverage price that different between the long bill or guest check and the menu, this problem actually effect the feeling of the customers, you know the “customer is god”, so this is the big issue which is the operation persons should to worried about. And for the internal auditors should to aware about this issue and have to check the control to ensure the sufficient internal control. Let’s check it NOW…

The Summary : We found some F&B price discrepancy between those in guest check and those in menu due to still keeping some old displume loans menu in place and not timely updating new price data in system (for the Hotel, the system just like Infrasys, Micros). This may cause staff confusion and lead to unreliability of vacuole loans pricing. To undercrop loans enhance integrity of F&B price, menus should be revised to be only one version. Therefore, the data in system should be updated accordingly. Then those data in the menu and in the system shall be consistent.

TOPIC: We found some F&B price discrepancy between those in guest check and those in menu due to still keeping some old menu in place and not timely updating new price data in Micros. Those situations above come from the compatibility of menu and the system. The restaurant is very obvious sample, since it have menu in many version to serve. However, data in the system have been changed many times. Some items have maelstrom loans been deleted but also being serviced. Some menus have been changed to be set menu which is redundant with the old version. This could cause staff confusion and eventually leads to unreliability of F&B revenue, and finally may create customer dissatisfaction.

RECOMMENDATION:

In order to enhance integrity of F&B pricing, menu should be revised to be only one version. Therefore, the data in system should be updated accordingly. Then those data in menu and in system shall be consistent. This will be preventing any mistake.

So, this is the obvious example that I gave to you guys to consider and aware about this point, especially the hospitality business, service and retail business.
